Navy Island Rum

The small "Navy Island" off the coast of Port Antonio in Jamaica is around 0.26 square kilometers in size, and is no bigger than that. Once used by the British Royal Navy - notorious rum drinkers and namesakes of the island - as a location for their guns, the island has changed hands frequently since then.

According to local legend, the most spectacular change took place in the 1940s, when a Hollywood star won the island in a poker game. Of course, it is said that there was a lot of rum involved. So it is no surprise that the small Caribbean island served as the inspiration for Navy Island's elegant and full-bodied Jamaican rums.

Navy Island is a blend of selected Jamaican rums from the Worthy Park, Monymusk and Hampden Estate distilleries. What they all have in common: they craft their spirits in traditional Jamaican stills, do not add sugar and produce in small batches.

The rums that are blended for Navy Island also have a typically Jamaican taste: they often have a high ester content and are therefore considered particularly aromatic and full-bodied.
