Navy Island is a blend of selected Jamaican rums from the major distilleries Worthy Park, Monymusk and Hampden Estate . What they all have in common: they make their rum by hand in traditional stills, do not add sugar and produce in small batches. The rums that are blended for Navy Island also have a typical taste for the rum island: with a high ester content, extremely aromatic and full-bodied .
The XO Reserve is Navy Island's flagship - a full-bodied, strong cuvée that matured extra long (XO = Extra Old) in bourbon barrels under tropical conditions. A limited edition now promises even more intense rum enjoyment. The lush character of the Jamaican is underlined by a finish of at least 6 months in barrels that previously contained dark sweet tawny port wine . The result: more complexity, sweetness, dried fruit and spice.
The new Jamaica Rum XO Reserve with Tawny Port Cask Finish is available in drinking strength of 46.4% vol. and for advanced drinkers in a Cask Strength Edition with a crisp 62.3% vol.
