River Rock Single Malt
River Rock Single Malt

River Rock is single malt with a clear mission: to make Scotch whisky more accessible and open the category to more people.

The “missionaries” are three friends and former Edrington executives. After more than 70 years in the spirits business, Mark Geary, Laura Anderson and Bill Farrar are now going their separate ways.

Instead of brands like The Macallan, Highland Park or The Glenrothes, the professionals' undivided attention belongs to their single malt Scotch whisky - River Rock.

Like a river, whisky pursues its own individual goals. A versatile, enthusiastic single malt for uncomplicated moments of enjoyment, instead of sophisticated Scotch with supposedly elitist airs and a challenging profile: that is River Rock. The founders spent around three years looking for a suitable spirit to open their door to the world of Scotch whisky. It should be gentle and seductive on the nose, soft and sweet in taste and with a hint of spice, but without any sharpness in the aftertaste.

What did they find? A raw spirit from the upper part of the copper still. Its particularly pure taste develops further in bourbon casks to create inviting, sweet aromas. These include roasted marshmallows, apples and vanilla as well as a spicy finish with oak tones.
The pleasant single malt Scotch whisky stands out from many representatives of its category in other ways too. Its individuality and freedom are reflected in the bottle. Like River Rock itself, the unusual glass container is inspired by the powerful movement of a river, which leaves unique patterns in solid rock. Organically running grooves form the sides. The pronounced groove on the bottom of the bottle makes it easy to hold and makes pouring and sharing easy. Contours that were modeled by hand in clay - a technique that the River Rocks glassworks has not used for over 30 years.

Each of the asymmetrical bottles is a different color - either clear or in shades of green and, in the future, even black, blue or red. The glass for River Rock Whiskey comes exclusively from overproduction and incorrect production that would otherwise have been thrown away unused. The packaging, right down to the shrink capsule, is 100% plastic-free and 100% recyclable. The brand even offers a refill service.
