Glasgow Distillery

The pioneering spirit of the first licensed distillery in Glasgow, which was founded in 1770, is the basis for the Glasgow Distillery. After more than 100 years without a distillery, the Glasgow Distillery continues the tradition of Scotch malt whisky in the metropolis. In its heyday, long before the Great Depression in 1930, there were still hundreds of active distilleries in Glasgow.

Since 2014, not only the 1770 Glasgow Single Malt has been produced, but also gin under the name “Makar”.
