Floki whiskies from Iceland (Eimverk distillery)

In 847 AD, Hrafna-Floki to find an island whose existence had only been rumored until then. After a long and arduous journey, the Viking set foot on the new land and named it: Iceland. Over 1,000 years later, the island, which is characterized by breathtaking landscapes, received its first whisky distillery, Eimverk . With its Icelandic pioneer single malts under the name Flóki The Brenner family creates a liquid monument to Hrafna-Floki's determination and courage to do things that no one has done before.

For the Flóki bottlings, Eimverk uses particularly robust Icelandic organic barley . This contains little starch, which is why around 50 percent more barley has to be used per bottle of whisky. The result: wonderfully atypical aromas that surprise whisky connoisseurs. The Icelanders' experiments with birch wood or barley malt smoked traditionally over sheep dung also contribute to this effect . From three-year-old single malt to whiskies finished in craft beer barrels, birch wood or ex-sherry casks to the Sheepdung Smoked Reserve and the Double Wood Reserve, the family business has created a diverse range of natural drams in around ten years of handcrafting. distilled.

The whiskies are bottled from individual casks and are therefore available as limited single cask reserve malts. Each bottle is hand-numbered and hand-signed by Master Distiller Egill Gauti Þorkelsson .
