Edradour
The distillery, which was probably founded in 1825, still operates in many ways as it did in the 19th century. Edradour is the only distillery in Scotland that still has the old farmhouse style. Edradour is a little jewel in the Scottish whisky landscape. Until recently, Edradour was officially the smallest distillery in Scotland that still produces its whisky in the old and traditional way. 12 barrels are produced per week.
Since 2002, Edradour has been under independent ownership again and has found a true whisky luminary as owner in Andrew Symington, the founder of the independent bottler Signatory. Since the takeover, there have been a number of new bottlings. The peatiest malts from Edradour are known under the name Ballechin.
