Description

Yaku Wari is 100% handcrafted pot still rum from Ecuador's coastal province of Manabi. Distilled on a private hacienda whose distilling operations have been discontinued, only 60 virgin oak barrels of the brand exist. These are gradually bottled at cask strength in the EU - without blending, additives of any kind or cold filtering - in order to preserve the original, lush profile of the rum. This process is entirely in keeping with the name: Yaku Wari means "untamed waters" in the indigenous Quechua language.

The Yaku Wari 7 yo – Cask No.2 and Yaku Wari 7 yo – Cask No.10 as well as the Yaku Wari 7 yo – Cask No.45 are among the brand's first bottlings. The entire batch was made in 2015 from the juice of Ecuadorian sugar cane. Fermentation lasted eight to nine days, followed by two distillations in the alembic still. Yaku Wari was then stored at an average alcohol content of 60% vol. and at a high degree of evaporation. The result? Connoisseur's rums with an expressive yet fine profile that are worth discovering.
