Cognacs from the Vallein Tercinier house have been delighting the palates of discerning connoisseurs for five and six generations . In the small community of Chermignac, the family business distills and blends the finest, yet affordable cognacs for both category connoisseurs and newcomers - including an increasing number of whisky fans . Vallein Tercinier is winning over the latter group of connoisseurs with precious, unadulterated single casks from the house's extensive and decades-old stock .

One of these cognac rarities is the Cognac Petite Champagne Lot 35. The single cask made from 100% Petite Champagne grapes was distilled in 1935 and matured in French oak for more than half a century. Since 1990, the treasure has been kept in a glass balloon, the so-called "Dame Jeanne". Thanks to these 24 years, an elegant balance between oxidative and fruity aromas developed, which is known as the "Old Bottle Flavour" . The interaction of the wooden barrel and the glass balloon meant that the cognac reached its perfect drinking maturity.

Neither chill-filtered nor coloured, it was bottled at a natural 47% ABV , which works harmoniously with the complex summer aromas and enhances them in a pleasant way. In addition to sugar cane juice and mango mousse, these include a light "funk" and subtle spiciness as well as a long, fresh finish .

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Lush and complex. Notes of dried apricot and silver fir honey are followed by a hint of shell limestone and damp wood, which mixes with sweet aromas of coconut flakes and sugar cane juice. Ripe pineapple and mango mousse unfold harmoniously, while nuances of green apple and ripe pear can be discovered in the background.

Palate: The first impression is characterized by oily passion fruit, accompanied by a light "funk" reminiscent of rum from St. Lucia. The balance between fruitiness and acidity is reminiscent of a Riesling from Abtsberg, with the freshness and fruitiness unmistakable. A subtle spiciness, comparable to the "Chili Catch" from Talisker, provides a pleasant tingling sensation. Towards the end, spicy notes develop that are reminiscent of sandalwood and stone pine, like a steam bath with a soothing infusion - very exciting and multi-layered.

Finish: Very long and fresh, with a persistence that makes it the ideal summer companion.
