Description
Tomintoul is popular with both beginners and as a relaxed after-work dram. The single malt from the picturesque Cairngorms National Park is considered one of the smoothest whiskies in Speyside. Master distiller Robert Fleming has played a key role in shaping the extremely soft, malty-floral character of Tomintoul - and has created accessible "gentle drams" that are both award-winning and inexpensive.
For the Wood Finish range, he first refines single malts that have been matured in bourbon casks for two years in selected barrels of various different types. The result? Full-bodied, complex single malts at top prices.
The Tomintoul Madeira Cask Finish was allowed to mature in fortified wine barrels from the Portuguese island, which gave it juicy fruit notes, oatmeal biscuits and cake spices.
