The new brand The Woodpecker & The Leprechaun is the first foray into the world of Irish whiskey by independent bottler Sebastian Büssing (The Spirits Alchemist, The Liquid Madness). Supported by Irish whiskey expert Neil Saad (Irish Whiskey News Germany), five single malt Irish whiskeys with innovative virgin wood finishes were created.

For The Woodpecker & The Leprechaun Cherry Tree Wood Finish, a 5-year-old Irish single malt from 1st fill ex-bourbon casks, distilled at the Great Northern Distillery, was placed in a Virgin Wood cherry wood cask in February 2023. After twelve months of maturation in the hand-crafted 50-litre cask, the result was 87 bottles with 56.7% ABV.

The other types of wood used in the series are apple, pear, mulberry and serviceberry. Explore the remarkably different influences of the woods on color, aroma and taste in a direct comparison.

The whiskey is not colored and not chill-filtered.
