The Midnight bottling from Silkie consists of 35% peaty, triple distilled single malt whiskey and four different triple distilled single malts. The five different single malts were each stored in different barrels, including Sherry Cask, Bourbon Cask, Oloroso Cask, Red Wine Cask, Virgin Oak Cask and Imperial Stout Cask. It is noticeable that no grain whisky was used to create the blend. This composition results in a rich, complex and smoky blend. Sweet notes of pear, sandalwood and oak nestle against the chocolatey creaminess of the Imperial Stout cask influence to create a balanced pleasure.
