Description

In 2002, raw spirit was first distilled in Finland's first and largest whisky distillery: Teerenpeli. The soft, sweet, sometimes floral whiskies of the Finnish pioneers are so popular that Teerenpeli, with two Forsyths pot stills, produces over 100,000 liters of alcohol a year - purely using renewable energy. An astonishing amount for the sparsely populated Scandinavian country, where the sale and advertising of alcoholic beverages are subject to numerous legal restrictions.

At 15 years old, the Teerenpeli 15 yo is the oldest single malt in the distillery's history. Distilled from Finnish barley, it matured in bourbon and sherry casks. This way, notes of caramelized apple combine with vanilla and oak spice.

The limited edition whisky was the first to be bottled in a new and more environmentally friendly bottle. As part of Teerenpeli's sustainability measures, the rest of the range will follow. With 40 percent less weight and a 25 percent recycled glass content, the bottles help to further reduce the distillery's carbon footprint.
