Description
Full of sultanas & black cherries:
Seychelles delight with Takamaka Pti Lakaz Rum
Less than 100 metres from the dream beach, the brothers Richard and Bernard d'Offay distill the first premium rum in the Seychelles. They not only have access to the pure mountain spring water from the main island of Mahé, but also the freshly pressed juice of Seychelles sugar cane and molasses from the Indian Ocean region.
The Takamaka Pti Lakaz demonstrates in an authentic way how both components blend harmoniously. Batch 3 of the rum, which is neither sweetened, colored nor chill-filtered, matured in three different types of barrels: Rum distilled in the pot still from sugar cane juice was stored for four years in new French oak and port casks. Column still rum made from molasses, on the other hand, was allowed to rest for three and six years in bourbon and port wine barrels. Eight-year-old Foursquare rum rounds off the small barrel-aged Takamaka stock with a full-bodied finish.
With rich fruity notes of sultanas and black cherries on the nose, plums and dried fruits on the palate and a long finish characterized by dark forest berries and marzipan confectionery with spices, the enjoyment experience transports you to an island paradise.
