Palate: Lively, smooth. The mentholated opening is spicy (curry, cardamom, cinnamon), pithy (ginger) and syrupy (hot cane sugar). In the middle part of the palate, vanilla pods and dark chocolate chips come together to create a perfect combination. A nice rich bitterness.
Finish: Long, creamy. The beginning of the finish is deliciously tannic and fibrous (sugar cane). The salty aftertaste brings out compote (apple), saffron and autumnal notes (moss). At the end of the finish, artichoke hearts round off the flavor palette.
The lively Habitation Velier Renegade was distilled from sugar cane juice and matured in French and new American oak barrels. Tasting Notes
Nose: Lush, full. The floral (dandelion), honeyed, medicinal (ointment) and vanilla nose gradually fills with the exquisite scents of gum arabic. Under the name Habitation Velier, Velier exclusively assembles pure single rums: they come from a single distillery, are distilled there in pot stills and are the equivalent of the Scottish single malt category.
