Blended Whiskey Red Earl Blended Irish Whiskey is a combination of ex-bourbon barrel matured Irish grain whiskey and triple distilled malt whiskey that was allowed to mature for 45 months in ex-sherry barrels. The barrels were then married and matured for another 4 months in ex-Rioja barrels. The Rioja barrels were chosen for their spicy fruit notes and out of respect for Red Hugh, who was laid to rest near the Rjoja region in Spain.
