Tasting Notes

Nose: Rich and juicy fig aroma from the barrel, followed by crunchy banana chips, with a delicate hint of fresh apricot tea.

Palate: Cosmo's typical honeyed, smooth taste is accompanied by a great balance of soft spices and dark fruits from the red wine barrel.

Aftertaste: The elegant tannins and woody notes ensure a long and round aftertaste.

Description

Two distilleries, three barrel warehouses, one brand: Mars distills high-quality single and blended malts – and plays with the influences of three different climate zones in Japan. A combination that enables Mars to continually produce new whiskies that surprise with their complexity.

The Mars Maltage Cosmo Wine Cask Finish is a limited version of the popular standard Cosmo bottling. The amber-colored blended malt whisky made from Japanese and Scottish single malt was refined in red wine casks from the company's own Japanese winery. Some of these malts were stored in the wine casks for more than two years. In addition to the round and pleasant honey sweetness of the Cosmo, spicy, dark fruit notes and tannins develop.
