Lochlea's seasonal small batch releases showcase the independent, family-run farm distillery's signature style in four distinct ways. As a working farm, Lochlea tailors its bottlings to the seasonal processes on the farm in verdant Ayrshire. The Third Crops are the final releases in the series.
The Lochlea Harvest Edition (Third Crop) is inspired by the busy harvest season, when, amidst summer sunsets, the barley is harvested for the following year's whisky. This single malt has been double-aged: in refill bourbon barrels and port hogsheads, as well as an Oloroso sherry butt. Aged another year, it offers a fresh take on the sweet and summery flavor profile of harvest whiskies. Connoisseurs can expect rich dessert notes balanced by spicy black pepper.
