Description
Season finale at Lochlea:
The last Harvest Edition is being brought in
Lochlea's seasonal small batch releases showcase the independent, family-run farm distillery's signature style in four different ways. As a working farm, Lochlea tailors its bottlings to the processes that are in place at any given time of year on the farm in green Ayrshire. The Third Crops are the last publications in the series.
The Lochlea Harvest Edition (Third Crop) is inspired by the busy harvest season, when the barley for the following year's whisky is brought in during summer sunsets. The single malt has been double matured: in refill bourbon barrels and port hogsheads and an Oloroso sherry butt. Aged another year, it offers a new take on the sweet and summery flavour profile of the harvest whiskies. Foodies can look forward to luscious dessert notes balanced by spicy black pepper.
