This malt whiskey is a vatting of different types of casks: Killowen Dark Rum and PX Sherry Casks. This is Batch 2 of the Killowen Rum & Raisin Whiskey.

The playful name of the signature release reflects the selected casks as the Killowen Dark Rum offers many molasses notes and tropical fruits, while the PX cask shows raisins and dried fruits. For this whiskey, Brendan, the owner of the distillery, was able to select 5 year old single malt casks He selected these from a neighboring distillery in County Louth.

The dark rum and then the whiskey were stored in an ex-bourbon barrel, while the sherry cask held 120 liters. That's why Batch 2, with 660 bottles, is a little more extensive than its predecessor. Even though the whiskey is a little younger than Killowen's previous bottlings, it is important to Brendan to keep the quality high. And he has succeeded once again with this whiskey.
