Description

Velier's Magnum Series brings together the grand masters of rum with the master photographers of the Magnum press agency. Founded in 1947 by photography greats such as Robert Capa and Henri Cartier-Bresson, this legendary company brings together some of the best photojournalists in the world.

The second edition of the series honors American photographer Alex Webb. His vibrant, captivating color images capture random or mysterious moments, often in places marked by sociopolitical tension. Four of them now adorn the authentic Bourbon Cask connoisseur bottlings.

The Beenleigh 8 yo shows a photo from Haiti, taken in 1979. The molasses rum was distilled in Queensland, Australia - first in a column, then in a pot still. A crisp 60% ABV makes it a distinctive experience with generous fruit notes, sweet spices and a long, silky aftertaste.

The Clarendon MBS 10 yo comes from one of Jamaica's distillery icons, decorated with a photo from Trinidad from 2005. The MBS marque identifies it as a rum with an ester content of between 10 and 60 g/hlpa. Accordingly full and complex, at 60 percent ABV it unfolds not only tropical and candied fruits but also fine spices and liquorice.

If you are looking for an outstanding example of AOC-certified Rhum Agricole, you will find it in the Saint James 12 yo. The blend of two rums from the 2003 and 2010 vintages was distilled in Martinique from sugar cane juice in a Creole column. The result? Original notes of honey, ointment, curry and cocoa powder. The photo on the label takes you back to 1988 on the island of Saint Lucia.

Distilled in 2010, the Hampden LROK 13 yo is the oldest existing tropically matured Hampden bottling. The rum rarity with the popular LROK marque has an ester content of 200 to 400 g/hlpa and shows a shot from Jamaica in 1988. Typically full-bodied, the experience lets liquorice, chocolate, petrol and smoked bacon melt with pineapple and banana.
