For Elements of Islay, the independent bottler Elixir Distillers selects whiskies from various active and partially inactive Islay distilleries. The bottlers compose their delicious elemental particles from barrels of different ages and sometimes from different distilleries. The aim: to depict the full range of island malt whiskies with their medicinal, peaty and maritime character.
The Elements of Islay - Fireside 2024 is a blended malt from two distilleries on the north coast of Islay, matured in heavily charred hogsheads, American oak Oloroso Sherry hogsheads and European oak Oloroso Sherry butts. Its bold profile of fire smoke with rich red fruits and candied oranges is inspired by the cosy idea of enjoying a smoky dram by the fire with friends after being caught in a rain shower on Islay.
