Description

Contrasting program at Benromach:
Single malt made from barley malt with high enzyme content

Old school and innovative: Benromach combines both qualities under one roof. The small distillery is reviving a nearly lost style of peated Speyside whisky while simultaneously experimenting with single malts outside the distillery's usual range in its Contrasts range.

With the Benromach Contrasts: High Enzyme 2012/2024, enthusiasts have the rare opportunity to taste a single malt made from enzyme-rich barley. This unpeated, high-enzyme barley is typically used to make grain whisky.

The higher enzymatic activity influences the fermentation process and creates a distinctive flavor profile. Fresh aromas of lemon drops, green apple, and peppermint blend with the sweetness of honeycomb and pineapple, as well as toasted oak and spicy pepper.
