Description
At the turn of the millennium, the first lines in the history of Indian whisky were written at Scottish level. By Amrut. India's flagship distillery was the first in the country to produce genuine, unadulterated single malt. The ambitious distillers use small-grained and therefore sweeter barley from the foot of the Himalayas, spring water from the mountains and Scottish peat malt for smoky variants.
Amrut Bagheera is made from 99 percent unpeated barley and one percent peat malt. Previously available as a limited edition, the single malt is now a permanent addition to the range. The smooth "black panther", as the whisky is called in Hindu, is refined in sherry casks. Its aromatic and enjoyable palette is bursting with naturalness and generosity: fresh fruits and nuts as well as soft vanilla and creamy caramel blend elegantly with delicate plumes of smoke.
