The new brand The Woodpecker & The Leprechaun is the first foray into the world of Irish whiskey by independent bottler Sebastian Büssing (The Spirits Alchemist, The Liquid Madness). Supported by Irish whiskey expert Neil Saad (Irish Whiskey News Germany), five single malt Irish whiskeys with innovative virgin wood finishes were created.

For The Woodpecker & The Leprechaun Chequertree Wood Finish, a 5-year-old Irish single malt from 1st Fill Ex-Bourbon Casks, distilled at the Great Northern Distillery, was placed in a Virgin Wood service tree cask in February 2023. After twelve months of maturation in the The hand-made 50-litre barrel produced 91 bottles with 57.3% vol.
