Smoke fans can breathe a sigh of relief with a new single malt where Danish innovation meets Portuguese tradition. Stauning Smoke Tawny Port Cask is a limited edition that combines the raw essence of West Jutland heather and peat smoke with the complex depth of Tawny Port.
Distilled from 100 percent Danish barley malt in direct-fired pot stills, the whisky matured entirely in first-fill tawny port casks. The result balances a pronounced smoky taste with sweet fruits and spices: sweet campfire smoke, thyme and heather honey are followed by notes of salted caramel, citrus fruits and gentle smoke, which end with ripe plums and butterscotch.
