The portfolio of the independent bottler Boutique-y Company includes not only whiskey but also rum and gin. Here, the owners Ben Ellefsen and David T. Smith also bottle their own spirits with great enthusiasm for experimentation. For the "Moonshot Gin", for example, the team flew their botanicals into the stratosphere in a balloon.
In general, Ellefsen and Smith love the unusual. This also applies to the design: graphic designer Emily Chappell researches intensively into stories, backgrounds and fun facts about each distillery and captures them with a wink on the label. On a Glenrothes bottling, for example, they depict the cemetery that is located right next to the distillery - including the ghost that is said to have haunted the distillery a few years ago.
