Description
Inspired by the food and bar scene of its hometown of Melbourne, Starward Distillery produces single malts that focus on the enjoyment experience: accessible, progressive and juicy, matured in Australia's finest (liqueur) wine barrels.
The urban distillers have long since perfected their award-winning standards – recently also visually.
With the projects they live out their creativity and create special bottlings that think outside the box of whisky production.
The latest example: Starward Muscat.
The single malt is a Starward premiere: it matured for four years in barrels from Rutherglen, Victoria, which had been filled with the fortified wine Muscat.
A combination of still wet filled and burnt barrels creates lush, sweet and fragrant aromas of lychee, raisins, roasted almonds and cinnamon, which end in a harmonious finish of toasted oak.
