Tomintoul 2009 - 14 yo - PX Quarter Cask Finish
Title
112.97 CHF
Volume: 0.7 liters | Alcohol content: 46% | Not chill-filtered | No coloring
Palate: Indulgent layers of pecan cake with maple syrup, chocolate ganache, raisins and toasted nuts paired with ground coffee, tobacco and baking spices.
Finish: Long and warming, with impressions of tiramisu, dark chocolate and Brazil nuts lingering on the tongue.
Fleming succeeds in underlining the smoothness of his whiskies with full-bodied cask finishes. Pedro Ximénez Sherry Casks were used for the limited 2009 edition of the Tomintoul 14 yo. The lush single malt with notes of chocolate ganache, raisins and coffee was initially matured in bourbon casks.
The latter also applies to the limited-availability Tomintoul 15 yo, which was then aged in Tawny Port barriques for delicious notes such as rhubarb compote, vanilla pudding and candied almonds.
Thanks to the absence of coloring and chill filtration, the single malts develop authentic, full aromas.

Description
Gentle, gentler, Tomintoul: The single malt from the picturesque Cairngorms National Park is the whisky of choice for beginners and relaxed after-work drams. In over 20 years at Tomintoul, Master Distiller Robert Fleming has played a key role in shaping the extremely soft, malty-floral distillery character - and creating accessible "gentle drams" that are both award-winning and inexpensive.Fleming succeeds in underlining the smoothness of his whiskies with full-bodied cask finishes.
