Description

Isle of Raasay Hebridean Distillers is the first to legally distill whisky on the small Isle of Raasay. What's more, the pioneering distillery's single malt is matured in a cask combination that's new to Scotland. The "Na Sia" (Gaelic for "the six") recipe combines peated and unpeated spirits, each of which is matured separately in three cask types: first-fill rye whiskey casks, virgin chinkapin oak casks, and first-fill Bordeaux red wine casks.

With the Na Sia series, Raasay makes the six components of the recipe available every two years as cask-strength single casks – the unpeated casks in the first half of the year, the peated casks in the second half. For whisky fans? A rare opportunity to witness how the Hebridean malt evolves.

This Peated First Fill Bordeaux Red Wine Single Cask matured in red wine barrels fresh from the châteaus of southwest France. The wood smoke is complemented by luscious notes of dark and dried fruits and BBQ ribs, blending harmoniously with maritime influences.
