Balvenie 12 yo Double Wood
Volume: 0.7 liters | Alcohol content: 40% | Chill-filtered | With color
Description
At The Balvenie, whisky is still made the way it has been since William Grant founded the distillery in 1892. The distillery is one of the few in Scotland that still grows its own barley, uses traditional malting floors, and employs both its own coppersmith and a team of coopers.
With this control over the entire production process, The Balvenie guarantees the taste and quality of one of the most authentic and highest quality whisky brands.
Following the end of David C. Stewart MBE's 60-year career, Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie has been overseeing the diverse range since 2023: full-bodied, delightfully smooth single malt Scotch whiskies characterized by a distinctive, honey-like character.
One of the portfolio's most popular whiskies worldwide is The Balvenie 12 yo – DoubleWood. It is produced using the wood-finishing process pioneered by David Stewart. A minimum of twelve-year-old single malt from bourbon barrels and hogsheads is refined in Oloroso sherry casks and then aged in "tuns," large oak barrels. This blends subtle vanilla and spice notes with a fruity, honey-like complexity.
