For their luxury blends, the "whiskymakers" combine high-quality single malt and single grain whiskies from their own barrel warehouse in Scotland. For the Limited Edition Vellichor, Compass Box was able to rely on single malt from one of Scotland's most famous distilleries: Macallan. The malty, sweet, oily whisky is complemented by fruity, earthy components from Highland Park, a hint of coastal smoke from Caol Ila and heavy, leathery and dark fruity blend components from sherry casks. Composed in this way, the blended scotch rarity succeeds in recreating what it is named after: Vellichor, the unique atmosphere of second-hand bookshops.
