Conclusion: This new make was matured for several months in red wine barrels from Chateau La Louviere in Leognan. It combines the fresh, fruity aromas of the fresh brandy with fine wine notes. Not yet a whisky, but a fine brandy. Suitable as a digestif or simply as an exciting adventure to follow the path of the French new make on the way to becoming a whisky by maturing in red wine barrels.
Origin
The Moon Harbour Distillery was built in and around a former German Navy submarine bunker from World War II.
Distilled from regional grain in stills from Stupfler / Bordeaux and in red wine or Sauternes barrels from one of the most renowned wine-growing regions in the world.
