The Mars Tsunuki - 2023 Edition comes entirely from the Tsunuki distillery. Only opened in 2016 in the subtropical south of the country, where temperatures reach up to 36°C, the facility was initially used mainly for maturation. Tsunuki bottlings are therefore rare. The sought-after refill matured for around six years in bourbon barrels and, at 50% ABV, balances jam, honey, subtle smoke and citrus notes.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Initially, sweet and citrus notes of the Japanese medlar, reminiscent of jam. As with the Tsunuki 2022 Edition, a hint of peat aroma follows, which spreads pleasantly together with sweet notes of honey and pancakes.Palate: Energetic and deep.
