Description
Lochlea sends a smoke signal: Ploughing Edition from ex-Islay barrels
It is a rarity in the Scottish distillery landscape: the Lochlea Distillery is independent, family-run - and is one of the few distilleries in Scotland to grow its own barley. Under the direction of industry giant John Campbell, authentic single malts are created, characterized by the barley of their region and a taste profile that is unusual for the Lowlands.
For the Lochlea Ploughing Edition (Second Crop), the small team is sending out smoke signals for the second time. Unlike last year, the limited single malt from the "Seasonal Releases" series was matured exclusively in ex-Islay casks, each of which holds just 200 liters. At the ideal drinking strength, the Lowlander develops a profile that puts you in the mood for spring: with fresh fruit and typical grain notes as well as sea salt, hay and gentle peat.
