Lochlea Our Barley is the result of the barrel recipe perfected by John Campbell and a blind tasting with the distillery team. The single malt Scotch whisky from the Lowlands matures in a sophisticated combination of first fill bourbon barrels, Oloroso sherry butts and STR barriques, i.e. "scraped" or "shaved", "toasted" and "recharred" wine barrels. At an ideal drinking strength of 46% vol., the whisky leads from pear syrup and fruit candy on the nose to fresh fruit and grain notes on the palate and macadamia nuts and orange beeswax.

Description
With Lochlea, the Scottish distillery landscape has recently grown to include an independent, family-run farm distillery. The former Laphroaig Distillery Manager and current Lochlea Production Director and Master Blender, John Campbell, is not the only one responsible for the distinctive style of their single malt. As one of only four distilleries in Scotland, Lochlea uses only barley grown on site and distills and matures its whisky on site.
