Lochlea Cask Strength Batch #2
Volume: 0.7 liters | Alcohol content: 60% | Not chill-filtered | No coloring
Description
It is a rarity in the Scottish distillery landscape: the Lochlea Distillery is independent, family-run - and is one of the few distilleries in Scotland to grow its own barley. The effect? Control over the entire production process and traceability from the field to the bottle.
With the Lochlea Cask Strength Batch 2, the farm distillery presents the second in a series of annual bottlings. Bottled directly from the cask, the experience is as if it were straight from the warehouse.
Batch 2 is also completely new for Lochlea: It consists of a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Sherry Casks as well as STR Wine Casks (casks where the inner layer of wood has been thinly removed before being toasted and finally re-burnt on the surface). At 60% abv, this selection of casks superbly enhances the fruit, nut and grain aromas that are characteristic of Lochlea.
