Micil Inverin Small Batch Whiskey 0.7 l
Micil Inverin Small Batch Whiskey , Blended Whiskey, Vol.: 46%
In 2016, Pádraic Ó'Griallas opened the first distillery in Galway in 100 years, following his great-great-great-grandfather's establishment of the family's first illegal distillery in Connemara. Micil Mac Chearra is also the namesake of the current Micil Distillery. They are now launching their first two whiskeys. These are still purchased whiskeys, but they have also begun producing their own whiskeys.
Micil Inverin Small Batch Whiskey is a blended whiskey made up of five different components: 20% grain matured in virgin oak, 45% grain from ex-bourbon barrels, 20% triple distilled peated malt, 10% double distilled malt and 5% triple distilled malt. The whiskey also received three different finishes: 47.5% of the blend was finished in re-charred ex-bourbon casks, 47.5% of the blend was finished in PX sherry casks and the final 5% was finished in a Micil Heritage Poitin chestnut cask and PX sherry cask.
This whiskey evokes the fruity spice of the original "Water of Life" from Connemara and the peat smoke of the illegal stills and kilns in Inverin. An exceptional blended whiskey that's by no means boring.
