Jameson is a triple distilled whiskey. It was invented in 1780 by John Jameson, after whom it was named. The Jameson brand is one of the best-selling Irish whiskeys in the world. The distillery places great emphasis on the smoothness and balance of the whiskey. They have been following this tradition since the first barrel was filled in 1780. True to the motto: triple distilled, double smoothness and simply great enjoyment.
The Jameson Caskmates is brand new. A Jameson that has been aged for another 6 months in a beer barrel. They came up with the idea when a local brewer asked if he could get whiskey barrels to mature his Irish stout in. So why not do it the other way around? No sooner said than done. The result was a great, sweet whiskey with aromas of coffee, cocoa and a small touch of hops.
