The best traditional Irish whiskey was created by Tom Cleary, the owner of the Temple Bar. Tom Cleary wanted to create a whiskey especially for The Temple Bar and thereby revive an old tradition in Ireland. In the old days, every pub had its own pub whiskey. This tradition is slowly returning to Ireland. Tom was certain that it should be a catchy whiskey with a special touch. So it was a blend that matured in bourbon and port wine barrels. Maturation in the port wine barrel gives the whiskey more depth and great notes of dark fruit. The bourbon barrel gives it a beautiful wood character with sweet notes of vanilla and malt. All barrels matured in the cellars of the Temple Bar.
