The Kinsale Mead Company is keen to experiment and this does not only apply to the selection of fruits for their fruit meads. In addition, they regularly surprise with selected barrel maturations and thus give their meads unusual twists. Among these is the Kinsale Wild Red Mead Merlot Barrel Aged an example of the perfect combination of honey, fruit and barrel influences. The Merlot barrel had an effect on the mead for a total of twelve months. As a result, the wood notes and wine aromas go perfectly with the semi-dry profile of the fruit mead.
