The Irish Blackwater Distillery is once again setting out to let the taste of the grain speak for itself. In their new Blackwater Mac Na Mara Malt Irish Poitín, the combination of five different types of grain shows how powerful the influence of the grain on a spirit is. Owner Peter Mulryan and his head distiller John Wilcox used both malted and unmalted barley, rye, peated and unpeated oats. Added to this is the power of the sea, as the Mac Na Mara malt used is malted in Irish seaweed. In addition, a proportion of Peated oat malt completes the aroma profile. This means you can look forward to an experimental taste experience, unique like no other and typical of the Blackwater Distillery.
