Tasting Notes
Nose: Lots of depth and complexity. Heavy fruity sweetness of dark berries and grapes against a background of dark chocolate and malt beer. The fruits become lighter over time.
Palate: Creamy. Extremely heavy, dark sweetness, especially from dark berries. Hints of Brazil nut combine with raisins, dark chocolate and smooth, bacony leather.
Finish: Medium length, with subtle sweetness and spice, a purée of dark berries and chocolate towards the end.
Description
The Blair Athol 2010/2024 comes from the skilled hand of whisky druid Michel Reick. With the best dram from a very old first fill Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead, fans of single malts with depth and heavy, dark sweetness will get their money's worth.
