Description

Velier's Magnum Series brings together the grand masters of rum with the master photographers of the Magnum press agency. Founded in 1947 by photography greats such as Robert Capa and Henri Cartier-Bresson, this legendary company brings together some of the world's best photojournalists.

The second installment in the series honors American photographer Alex Webb. His vibrant, captivating color photographs capture random or mysterious moments, often in locations marked by sociopolitical tension. Four of them now adorn the authentic connoisseur bottlings from bourbon casks.

The Beenleigh 8 yo features a photo from Haiti, taken in 1979. This molasses rum was distilled in Queensland, Australia – first in a column still, then in a pot still. A crisp 60% ABV makes it a distinctive experience with generous fruit notes, sweet spices, and a long, silky finish.

The Clarendon MBS 10 yo, decorated with a photograph from Trinidad from 2005, comes from one of Jamaica's iconic distilleries. The MBS trademark identifies it as a rum with an ester content between 10 and 60 g/hlpa. Accordingly, it is full-bodied and complex, and at 60% ABV, it unfolds not only tropical and candied fruits but also fine spices and licorice.

Anyone seeking an outstanding example of AOC-certified Rhum Agricole will find it in the Saint James 12 yo. This blend of two rums from the 2003 and 2010 vintages was distilled in Martinique from sugarcane juice in a Creole column still. The result? Original notes of honey, ointment, curry, and cocoa powder. The photo on the label takes you back to 1988, to the island of Saint Lucia.

Distilled in 2010, the Hampden LROK 13 yo is the oldest existing tropically aged Hampden bottling. This rare rum, bearing the popular LROK brand, has an ester content of 200 to 400 g/hlpa and features a shot from Jamaica in 1988. Typically full-bodied, the experience blends licorice, chocolate, gasoline, and smoked bacon with pineapple and banana.
