Elsburn The Harz
Volume: 0.7 liters | Alcohol content: 46% | Not chill-filtered | No coloring
Description
The Harz is not only the location of the highest mountain range in northern Germany, but since 2002 it has also been a source of the highest single malt enjoyment. The person responsible for this is the Hercynian Distilling Co. The family business produces an impressive range of Hercynian single malt whiskies by hand, always authentically, using traditional methods, long fermentation times and a great love of experimentation.
Now the distillery is presenting a new standard that combines its demands on whisky production with a fair price.
ElsBurn The Harz is distilled from 100 percent regional barley. By maturing in first and second fill sherry hogsheads and a small proportion of first fill bourbon barrels, the single malt emphasizes the distillery character - even more so than with The Journey or the Distillery Edition.
At an ideal drinking strength of 46% vol., The Harz unfolds notes of apricot, red berries and tropical fruits with raisins, malt and spicy oak as well as creamy notes of vanilla, caramel and light chocolate.
