Botanist / Islay Dry Gin
Volume: 0.7 liters | Alcohol content: 46% | Chill-filtered | No coloring
Description
The Botanist is not only the first dry gin from the island of Islay, but also a classic spirit of impressive diversity and complexity. From 22 wild, hand-harvested Islay botanicals and nine classic gin components (berries, bark, seeds, and zest), combined with a particularly slow and gentle distillation process, the Bruichladdich distillery creates a multifaceted spirit with magnificent aromas. The pure expression of the wild Hebridean island of Islay.
Collected over seven months of the year at the optimal harvest time (never more than needed for the annual production), the botanicals spend a full 17 hours in the distillation still to create a gin that meets Bruichladdich's high standards for a true Islay product. Distilling takes place in "Ugly Betty," a specially converted Lomond still that allows for ample copper contact. A lot of effort, but it's worth it: The Botanist is the fastest-growing gin brand in the high-end category.
