Palate: Despite the impressive 72.5% ABV, the alcohol is well integrated and the mouthfeel surprisingly velvety and creamy. Ripe bananas and juicy pineapple dominate the tropical fruit profile, which blends perfectly with notes of tar, rubber and olives. A delicate fishy note (possibly sardines) complements the taste, while a pastry-like creaminess flashes in the background, rounding out the experience.
Finish: Long, complex and intense. Grapefruit notes throughout are accompanied by a salty aftertaste that elegantly underlines the maritime essence of the rum. The creamy texture remains present until the end.
Two characteristics distinguish the Dos Delinquentes Fiji 2006/2024: In addition to its remarkably high alcohol content of 72.5% vol., it matured under various climatic conditions. After more than eleven years in the tropical South Pacific, it was matured continentally in Europe from 2017 to 2024. The rum owes its delicious creaminess to this.
The Fiji Rum was distilled in Jamaican-style pot stills. Equipped with retorts, these stills produce lush, aromatic rum - characteristics that were underlined by fresh bourbon barrels. Bottled directly from one of the barrels free of any additives, the Dos Delinquentes Single Cask brings strong, full-bodied complexity to lovers of characterful rums. Surprisingly creamy, the experience, limited to 256 bottles, combines maritime aromas with tar, rubber, olives and ripe tropical fruits.
Tasting Notes
Nose: An intense opening reminiscent of salty sea breezes, with strong notes of olives, anchovies, tar and sea water. A hint of fresh rubber rounds off the aroma.
