Tasting Notes
Nose: Soft citrus peel with hints of strawberries and a touch of smoke. Pineapple notes come to the fore, along with fruitcake and a splash of lemon sorbet.
Palate: Aromas of fruit compote are complemented by orange peel and a hint of aged leather. Medjool dates and flambéed banana give way to roasted almonds.
Finish: Full and long finish with black pepper and a hint of smoke.
Description
The Benromach 50 yo retains its gentle smoke even after a proud half-century in the cask. At a cask strength of 54.6% ABV, this rarity combines light peat with citrus fruits, fruit compote, hints of old leather, and black pepper.
For this, the handcrafted highlight was stored in a single first-fill sherry hogshead. 248 specially crafted decanters reflect Benromach's artisanal ethos: Hand-formed, each bottle is a unique work of art.
