Description

A spirit of adventure and a love of experimentation are at least as much a part of Stauning's DNA as the regional ingredients from the west coast of Denmark, the malting on their own malt floor or the distillation in 24 small, directly fired pot stills. The Jutland distillers can particularly let their imagination run wild in their innovative Research Series - for example with the Dirty Bastard.

In the new edition, the Danish dram takes Stauning's exotic bastard from mezcal barrels to the next level. To achieve this, the single rye whisky went through a triple maturation process: first stored for three to four years in barrels made of American virgin oak, it was matured in mezcal and tequila casks and finally refined in stout barrels from the Danish craft breweries "To ØI" and "Fanø Bryghus".

Anyone who manages to secure one of the 6,530 bottles will be rewarded with grain, cinnamon, cocoa and tobacco on the nose, dark chocolate and vanilla, roasted nuts and chili as well as dark beer, hops and roasted malt on the palate. The bottle with the hairless Mexican dog Xolotzcuintle (Xolo) and selected notes was once again designed by the Danish tattoo artist Thit Hansgaard.
