Velvet Cap Irish Whiskey 0.7 l
Velvet Cap Irish Whiskey , Blended Whiskey, Vol.: 40%
Peter thought long and hard about which whiskey to bring to market next. It was actually supposed to be a high-quality single malt range, like the Retronaut already was. But now he has noticed that there are more and more whiskeys in the higher price segment, but there are almost no special whiskeys on the market in the cheaper price segment. This is how the idea for Velvet Cap was born. Until the 1960s, Velvet Cap was the whiskey of the local merchants, bottled in Dungarven. The Blackwater Distillery then found out in the local museum how the whiskey used to be matured. And the idea for Velvet Cap was born.
Velvet Cap is a blended whiskey. After the whiskey was blended, it matured again in bourbon, rye/stout and port wine barrels. The rye/stout barrels are special. Last year, master distiller John Wilcox started using a rolling system to fill rye barrels with stout, then rye again, then stout again. This is how very special barrels were created.
The whiskeys used for this blended whiskey are not from the distillery itself, but it has become a truly special whiskey.
The influence of these three types of casks has created a very special whiskey. The whiskey is pleasant to drink and has beautiful, complex notes.
The first batch is limited to 6000 bottles.
