50 year old Single Cask Cognac from Vallein Tercinier
Since 1850, the Vallein Tercinier house has been supplying discerning palates with a wide range of cognacs of the highest artisanal quality. The fifth and sixth generations produce the finest, yet affordable cognacs for connoisseurs and cognac beginners alike - such as whisky fans. The family business has been winning over the latter group of connoisseurs for some time now with precious, unadulterated single casks from the extensive and decades-old in-house stock.
One of the rarities is the approximately 50-year-old Très Vieux Cognac Grande Champagne Lot 74. The single cask consists of 100 percent Grande Champagne grapes. During half a century in French Limousin oak, the cognac developed great aromatic finesse.
Smoke and roasted aromas give way to delicate floral tones balanced by Sichuan pepper, liquorice and candied oranges. Round and creamy aromas of English fruit cake spread across the palate before vintage port wine ushers in a long finish.

Secondary notes of fennel, Sichuan pepper, liquorice, candied oranges and exotic fruits harmoniously round off the first moments of the tasting.Palate: Fresh, round and creamy, the palate offers flavors of English fruit cake, candied apricots and almonds.
Finish: Long and complex, with cocoa and a finish of vintage port.
