Description
Discover premium rum from Thailand: Shakara is full-bodied, authentic & distinctive
Many connoisseurs do not know that sugar cane originally comes from Southeast Asia. Thailand, for example, is one of the world's leading producers of sugar cane. The sweet grass has been cultivated here since the Neolithic period. The Shakara 12 yo pays tribute to this heritage, named after the Sanskrit word "shakar" for "sugar, sweetness".
The traditional Thai rum is made in the central province of Nakhom Pathom from regional molasses and stored for a long time in bourbon barrels. It matures intensively in the tropical climate of the fertile region: the combination of high average temperatures and humidity between 60 and 80 percent concentrates the aromas and gives Shakara a deep, full-bodied taste.
The absence of sugar or colorings makes the rum an authentic ambassador of the Thai terroir, to which it opens the door in luxurious packaging for fans of the premium category.
